The Mie Theory Calculator
This software was developed by Dr. Ivan Charamsinau as part of his Ph.D. thesis on photodynamic therapy for cancer treatment.
This program calculates
the light scattering and absorption of small particles. Small particles
are those with a diameter on the order of the wavelength of the electromagnetic
wave (light) incident upon them. Scattering of light from large macroscopic
particles can be treated with geometrical optics. This program solves
Maxwell's equations to predict the percentage of light scattered and absorbed
by particles. Simple spherical and composite core-shell particles are
considered.
